Stock photos are professional photographs of common places, landmarks, nature, events or people that are bought and sold on a royalty-free basis and can be used and reused for commercial design purposes. It can also be one of the most meticulous type of photography – in some ways, stock photos requires a certain level of neatness and technicalities. Today, Ukrainian photographer Nestor Bandrivskyy will give us 4 easy guides in shooting stock photos.
1. Technical
Your pictures should be perfect technically (consider the noise or blur, artifacts, over/under exposure, white balance, focus, chromatic aberration, distortion or over manipulated) These photos can look great by composition or in an idea but if they contain a technical mistakes, they will be rejected by photo stocks.

2. Consumer’s Point of View
Before you will push the shutter-release button, be sure that picture can be sold on stocks. See what you shooting not just from photographer side, but also from buyer point of view.

3. Photoshop
Learn Photoshop, but don’t spend too much time retouching a pictures. Time is money. I spend retouching a picture average not more than 5-10 min. If you will spend more time on retouching one picture, you don’t will a lot of time to work with a big quantity of photos. Try to shoot a series not just a single shots. Single shots take a lot of preparing time.

4. Equipment
Use an equipment which you are comfortable with. You should also have a light and tripod along with your camera. Better for you if you will have several sources of light. Also, do more practice, always learn from other photographers, and analyze what you do and why.
